Avalon's counter inside Jolly Pumpkin is the kind of low-lit spot where you can actually hear each other talk over coffee and a pastry. From there it's a short walk to Source Booksellers and City Bird, browsing without any pressure to buy, before landing at The Old Miami for a beer and whatever's playing on the small stage.
